I agree, to the extent that the concern is about the jury pool, rather than the public solely. Yes, I know they are related; but the distinction is important to my position:

Caring about what the public thinks in general, is distinct from the goal of being able to obtain a jury willing to exact justice.

Since the pool is a subset of the public, I am, unfortunately, therefore relegated to being concerned about optics, as you suggest we must be.

Trump ball washers like to smell fear and chaos.

If and when any maga clown makes an actionable threat, the authorities should take action.
If an citizen is legally allowed to put down a maga clown threat, they should do so.

These MAGA clowns are dumber than the Civil War south; and if they want war, they should get it. This time, the lesson should be made to stick.

Pussy-footing around this issue will embolden these clowns to keep trying to take inches.

Never let an enemy, foreign or domestic, invoke fear. For some of us, this is a natural concept learned while growing up.
