What Options book are you currently reading?

read their journals...when you dont understand something, get to googling. if you dont find your answer continue the thread then the next one then the next one then eventually come back and reread their threads and you will have a new perspective. In your down time read books that are more specialized for advanced options concepts...this helps a lot with knowing wtf these guys are talking about.

Honestly i dont blame them for ignoring us...they are casting pearls before swine, it is not their fault if we trample them under our feet. The answers to all of your questions have been answered out there somewhere...except a few of Des's Acronyms that is haha. But what do you expect from a guy with a SCAR 21 without a scope on it?

I was without optics for a day. I have an ATACR on the SCAR 20.

600 with Federal GMM. It's a bit of a stretch for the 1-8X ATACR, but I love the look of that scope. I am going to put it on my SBR SCAR 17 and go with another ATACR or an S&B shorty in RAL 8000.

Looked up up this guy on linkedin, and I'll be damned if he wasn't 2 years behind me at Rice. I didn't know him. I guess if I would have studied math econ instead of applied math & geophysics, I wouldn't be a 47 year old douche grasping at straws on a message board.
I think a lot of us with math skills but a financial bent went into engineering/math/physics/etc. in the 80s/90s because financial engineering type programs were rare at the time. On paper I was pretty good at math and engineering but I couldn't fix a manual pencil sharpener or child's bicycle if my life depended on it. After the first few job interviews, I realized I'd gone into the wrong field. But everyone said traditional STEM degrees were the way to go...

Dumb question: What is the most effective/kosher way to extract useful knowledge from those who possess it? Most of the time, due to the jargon and lack of experience/background on my part, I fail to comprehend what they are saying.

Do I simply start a thread with my current trading and thought process and ask for feedback? A trading journal?
From my experience, expect more jargon/code talk and a lot of bravado about alleged trades....after the fact. I'll be glad to be proven wrong, but people announcing real-time trades with their rationale/systems in plain English is almost non-existent here.

yea that thing deserves something like a 5-20 for it to serve its "purpose". hope you have plenty of mags and ammo...im happy that I followed the old adage "by cheap, stack it deep" especially since I primarily shoot AKs and their shit is going through the roof.

as you said everything is 80/20 including the advice you receive on this board. No one is here to serve you. There is no obligation to hand you free trades nor share their options trading experiences.

I wouldn’t complain. It’s clear that there are people who have made millions (and some who have made tens of millions) trading volatility on this board. For some people trading volatility works. And options people tend to be the most giving compared to other types of traders.
