Jack Hersey and his methods, in theory are quite spectacular, and may emanate that brand new car smell.
Trading is something quite complicated and id rather see a newbie following jack's complex, hazy and tortuous road to eldorado than see them get involved in a trading room like puretick. Along the infinite JH loop, you read a lot of documents, learn about several aspects of trading, in depth technical analysis, learn to execute properly in different conditions, play with possibly several instruments, some even learned to code for that purpose. quite impressive.
the ordeal is noble too. spending energy building an empire instead of watching TV and work 9-5 is the best thing someone can do in my opinion.
Of course the reason why JH/SCT is so popular and controversial is the same for all other extremely popular and controversial subject, it promises easy money and fame/power. humans are attracted to that like flies to yesterday's leftovers.
However, if JH method's works, is a completely different, insignificant topic. I believe to serve the purpose it has to serve, it doesn't need to actually ''work''. Its like in the kung fu movies, Where the hero takes on a mystic quest to find the ''holy grail'' of some sort, and at the end of the journey, he realizes that the journey was actually the holy grail, and then he kicks the bad guy ass.
A lot of theories that makes sense actually fail hard when applied to trading.
