For $515 more, you are buying an additional 640 x 1080 screen space. About 33% more.
Say you want 8 monitors. 1920 x 8 = 15360.
For 2560, it is equivalent of 6 x 29" monitors.
6 x $630 = $3780
8 x $115 = $920
For the same purpose.

Usually, the specs section of the monitor you're looking at will tell you if it's VESA mount compatible on the DELL site, but sometimes it doesn't. (I once bought an "S" series which is NOT vesa compatible).
When reviewing monitors, third party vendors are sometimes more reliable. For example, the specs section of TigerDirect and Provantage will provide the info regarding if it's VESA compatible.
Currently, I'm looking into upgrading some of my older monitors to the "P" series monitors from DELL, which all are VESA mountable.
I've tried them all.
