What would be the margin requirement in this case for backspread straddle?

Red arrows mean sold 10 contracts and green arrows mean bought 20 contracts. Both short legs are in the money.

$500 or $1000 margin?

ask your broker.

This platform says 500. But IB maybe can req. more margin.

Margin req for a spread should be it's maximum loss. No matter how fancy it is.

One more thing: broker does not need you to allocate more cash than spread's maximum loss to be safe.
But you might need more than that to manage your loss.
