What makes you angry when you trade?

I've a similar issue except my major pet peeve is my parent. She just won't stop yapping about random things, watching tv or blasting the radio during market hours. She is always nagging or yelling at something and she does that every single minute of her waking hours. She also has these impulsive habits like constantly wiping the table spot clean along with my keyboard when I am doing live trades. She even accidentally unplugged my pc once which resulted in a -$500 bagger. It is almost impossible to not get emotional tilt with her around. I can't really begin to describe the anger and frustration I had to put up with. Your lucky your situation is just a pet. Aleast, you can make him shut up. Asian parents from the older generation are the worse. So ignorant and annoying. Their beliefs and mentality is so different & counterintuitive to today's generation.

What prevents you from getting your own house, condo or apartment or whatever ?

If you have a separation issue from your parent...get a place nearby (walking distance)...visit whenever you feel like it.

Geeesh, my parents were annoying too. As soon as I turn 18 years of age...I took my academic scholarship, moved out of the house and went to the university.

I then got a part-time job so that I wouldn't be dependent upon them for financial help...never lived with them again but stayed close (visit on holidays & special occasions) because they are family that I love.

Later, no longer needing to be close and after the military...I'm now living in another country, kids and as full time trader. Yet, I still go to all the family reunions all over France and the U.S.

The thing that annoys me are neighbors knocking on the door to visit because they have a day off from work but they know I am home trading. They think you have free time during the trading day to just talk & hang out.

High rental keeps me from moving out and the fact I am losing money in the stock market doesn't help either. $800 would get me a tiny bachelor in the slum district.

Stupid mistakes because mistakes cost you monies. Of course, I am only angry at myself for making such mistakes. They say we have to trade like robots without emotions and probably, that is the case but, no easy shakes. We are only human after all. But, we have to do our utmost to remove emotion so that, we are clear headed and make the smart trading decisions!

The issue may be more about the "distractions" in our trading environment that causes those stupid mistakes.

Less distractions (outside of trading) that enters our environment...equal better trading performance.

Having grown up with a Long Island mom married to a Brooklyn dad, I'd beg to differ on the whole "Asian" thing......

You're 41!?? :wtf:

I thought reading this you were 20 something. I tried moving in back with my parents and trading so I could save money. Was a very bad idea. They were 100% against it and even try to sabotage me. I moved out a year later I think.

I am not in my 40's yet. Thou I am getting kinda close which is why it's so frustrating to me when I am not successful. It's one of those things I always dreamed of getting rich off since I was a teenager.

Well, finally got a green day today with minimum distractions...

Relax, slowdown, think smarter don't work harder, take your time, strategize, plan, look at the big picture, make plans, trade your plan. Don't ever trade off the cuff or trade via guessing or hope.
Trade your blueprint, if you have no blueprint then no trading other than sim (to determine which strategy best works for you).
Talking from experience my advice is you have 20 odd years to get your shit together, when you are near retirement that's when you HAVE to have everything sorted.
