What is your take on Daniel Kahneman's theory? Happiness is not more than 60-75k/year

The people in the squalid camps as far as I understand it were forceably evicted from their land and homes and fled abroad. It is very nice of the surrounding countries to give them refuge. They aren't exactly wealthy themselves. But they do share what little they have,

The Middle East crisis will continue indefinately until both sides show some sympathy to the other. The US has always heavily favoured the one side. It is not an honest broker. They talk of democracy and then when a democratic Govt is fairly elected they support the Egyptian army's side and help oust that Govt.

US foreign policy is largely driven by the Jewish lobby and their money. They have taken out Iraq and Syria for their Israeli buddies. Britain has been a willing poodle helping, largely thanks to Tony Blair. And now he has a nice job working for US interests there on US money. Even gave a little speech at Sharon's funeral. Hardly ever contacts and talks to the Palestinians apparently, but stays in Jerusalem's best hotel.
 
To return to topic I was trying to illustrate some people's progress from poverty to sumptuous, no expense spared, wealth. Not necessarily just one ethnic group though.

Are they happier behind high walls ?
 
If you make 60-75k/year, and everyone else makes twice that, and you are a primate, odds are that you will be unhappy, even if your income satisfies all your basic needs.

Apparently not. A study after Tversky & Kahneman's work confirmed that people would rather earn $50K if everyone else around them was earning $40K than earn $60k if everyone else was on $70k. There is more than psychological top dog facors at work. It was shown that subjects unconsciously assessed the average cost of living in both scenarios and although earning more in the second one, would have had less buying power than in the first, even though their absolute earnings were higher. Fascinating stuff.

you can sugarcoat it all you want to suit your reality. it does not change the situation on the ground. people livings in these camps cannot obtain citizenship in the arab countries where they live/ they are supported by western aid not by the arab host countries.

of course, your response to the inadequate and cold reaction of your people to the plight of Jewish refugees was a fat zero.

in addition,of course, your response to the inadequate and cold reaction of your people to the plight of Jewish refugees was a fat zero. there was a pathetic small number(40,000) of jewish refugees allowed into the UK . it is also true of the small number of Jewish refugees allowed into palestine (75,00 0ver 5 years)because of ass licking of the arabs by your government.
 
If you are unhappy with you financial situation chances are you don't have a money problem. Your problem is envy, inability to practice delayed gratification, and your expectations are probably wanting 100% return on a 50% effort. This of course assumes you haven't been fucked by the financial terrorists of corporate America, and the criminally corrupt government that they own.:eek: Then your problem is powerlessness. So keep your ego in check, work hard and keep your fingers crossed, cause a little bit of dumb luck goes a long ways.
