What is your single biggest fear in life?

Death.
I used to fear death.
Now I don't give a sh*t.

I'm happy to go .. suddenly.
I'm happy to stay because I'm doing a hell of lot every day and I've got stackloads of things I want to do and arrange .. futurewise.

Trading? Well thats just a money accumulation game .. very enjoyable.
:)

1- Losing my day job........which is a daily worry....just because its hard to find another one in general

2- dying of a long sickness/desease...as opposed to an inmediate death.

Getting my wang caught in a door,of course.

yes, amen brother. I have this intense fear that when I get up to accept my trader of decade award at the banquet, my schlong will snag on the stairs. Imagine the humiliation.

Quote from deepbluefaq:

1. That I will never have or have done anything to be proud of

2. It's hindered me because I set standards so high they are impossible to meet. So I always fall short of the bar. It has made me miss opportunities that I wrongly thought were'nt worth my time.

3&4. I could lower my standards, but... I cant. Then it won't be worthy of being 'proud of'.
Interesting. So rather than do anything at all, you prefer to do nothing. Just curious, is it possible that you might feel good about yourself with the accumulation of several seemingly innocuous accomplishments? In other words, just get moving, get some momentum going in your life and the accomplishments will follow and accumulate. Individually, they may not amount to much in your eyes, but when you stand back and look at the sum of all the things you did, you might say, "Hey! Not bad."

Just my opinion, of course.

It's always the small things in life that tend to trip us up.

My greatest fear,

becoming the very thing that I have been trying so hard to avoid for so long.

Which is.......?

Quote from Ripley:

1. Presently, what is your single biggest fear in life? It need not be limited to the trading arena.

My life being taken prematurely. I had a near death experience in college where I was attacked by a 6'6" 275 schizophrenic retard on a stairway. I could've easy broke my neck and could've been paralyzed.

2. How, and to what extent, do you think this fear has either helped or hindered you?

I am much more aware, alert as to where, when and who I am with at all times.

3. If you have found that, on balance, your fear has hindered you, what steps do you think you would need to take in order to overcome that fear?

I am paranoid. I won't let anybody mess with me. I carry a gun everywhere I go. The next person who would violate my right to live forever in anyway is going to pay with their life.

4. What prevents you from taking these steps? (If, indeed, you have found that your fear serves as a hindrance.)

I am a lot more concerned for people I love. I would have a hard time having children, etc due to the fear of losing them... or letting them risk their life cut short by others.

I carry a gun as well. I have a Walther PPK/S with a shoulder holster made in the old spook days by Paris Theodore who owned Seventrees in NYC. Walther comes out of that holster like greased lightening. Any spooks out there remember the holster maker to the spies?

Do you have a license to carry that gun btw? What type of gun?
