%%I did CANSLIM for some time, also used their MarketSmith service, but ultimately found it difficult to trade as it takes quite a long time to see if it works. Their market timing model gets quite choppy occasionally. Backtesting their model is nearly impossible because of data requirements.
It is one of the few things that still sound fairly credible to me, it just wasn't something I could follow blindly because of the above. Ultimately moving into way shorter term systematic trading, where I could validate systems myself and get live feedback way faster because trades count is much higher.
IBD+ CANSLIM founder said'' i dont know why any would would trade[invest] in ETFs, i can make more trading stocks'' [BUT he was unusual good/talented, NYSE seat, Newspaper Founder, fund manager, +several more companies.................................................]He did give me 2 free books /one for 6 month IBD subscription, so i have a good bias.
WELL i use canslim for ETFs + have lost less, so i make more. Another reason\ its difficult to back test/IBD 50 changes the 50 stocks so much.
ACTUALLY i still like to study his single stockcharts;
ETFs [leveraged or cash]seldom surprise the % of single stocks,up or down.
CAN SLIM does explain a lot about markets.
