Investing is a like fishing as a fisherman. You throw a net (make a trade) and need to wait patiently. You need to constantly watch out developing news. If you are not patient, chances are you will miss the fish. If you wait patiently you increase the chance of catching anything but it does not guarantee any catch.

Patience aka time, can be used as an edge indicator. The more patience, time wasted, waiting for a trade to do as expected, or at a very minimum show meaningful signs of expected movement, the less edge the trade has... everyone and their mother should not have the same opportunity to enter the same trade at or near the same price as you, if the trade has an edge.
