What is the purpose for finding life on Mars

Quote from waggie945:

Perhaps we could take the $1.5 billion that Bush wants to use towards teaching a course in Marriage and apply it to Cancer Research here on planet Earth.

Wouldn't that be nice?

:p

Yeah waggie, especially if they would find something with it!
:D

Quote from slammajamma:

I agree on all points.

I am a lifelong athiest. I harbor no bitterness for religious folk and their institutions, but rather admire them deeply. I hold a different view of creation.

Gekko's not an athiest, he is a antitheist.

Are you a Brit? "colonising" is the King's spelling.

Hey slamma,

That's remarkable, tell us more about this.
As you seem to know your stuff pretty well, making the distinction between an atheist and an antitheist, allow me to call you a canonic atheist.

Why would you then want to waste your time and/or confuse antitheists by talking about your holding views about creation?

Be good,

nononsense

A canonic atheist is kind of a loaded term, but I accept it.

Why confuse the issue? Well, it all started somehow, didn't it?

What about your "creation"? Ain't that "kind of loaded" also?
Be reassured, I'll graciously accept it.

Now about your saying: "Well, it all started somehow, didn't it? ", how can you be sure as you don't have a Theos to fall back on?
