What is the point of living?

What is the real point of living?
I don't really subscribe to the hedonistic lifestyle of enjoying life and having fun because I am constantly aware of the pollution my actions and existence are causing.
Think of all the plastic bottles /containers I will use over my entire life, all the fuel my cars would consume over my lifetime or all the poop I will poop over my lifetime. All the enjoyment in the world is not worth the destruction this pollution will cause to our beautiful planet.
Also whatever fun /enjoyable memories I make by living will all fade away and be wiped out by death. So there is no point in destroying the planet with pollution in exchange for something which is temporary.
Yet people continue to reproduce and bring more humans into existence knowing full well that their lives will cause even greater pollution in exchange for their existence which is brief, temporary and fleeting. When does this all end? What is the whole point of this cycle of birth and death from generation to the next when all it is causing is for pollution to go up and the planet to deteriorate at an exponential rate!

You're trying to get an objective answer from a subjective question.

But to try to answer, what is better...to be alive or to be dead? Would you rather be alive in a polluted city or dead in a clean one? There's your answer.

If a life has no point, then its deduction from the human society will have no impact at all.

Wrong deduction, because pointless =/= impactless

What is the point of the Moon's existence? Nothing, it just exists. That doesn't mean it has no effect.

The points go out, the impacts come in, I can explain that.

The correct, and only answer to OP's (and most philosophers') question is: collecting stamps.

That is right, you heard it correctly, collecting stamps, putting them in a book, framing the nicest ones is the meaning of life. It gives you a full, well lived life, complete satisfaction and when you die, your children will be happy when they inherit your lifetime achievement.

Start collecting today, you will be a better person...

Tough day at the office Ringy?

The biological reason is to reproduce. (I'm not recommending it, or anything like that. Planet stressed as it is.)

The psychological reason is something you have to make up. There is nothing that matters intrinsically. If you decide it matters, well, it matters.
