What is the Mercedes Benz of trading software

You guys must drive really bad cars....some of the products mentioned here are so clunky, so second rate, and so slow, I'm amazed they even hit this thread.

Maybe you've mentioned two or so places/products used by institutions or people looking for high speeds, low latencies, relaibe connectivity, back up centers, that do real volume.

This thread is somewhat scary....

No ones stopping your from adding your suggestions.

It's also not clear what the poster means by "trading software". He says platform + charts. So at the very least it means order execution and charting. Many other platforms mentioned have much more such as advanced data mining, automated trading and strategy optimization.

oh do please educate the poor masses Sir kjsnow25 Insider Kick-Arse-Man:cool:

I did tests on the following executions/feeds for futures:

NinjaTrader on TT Feed
NinjaTrader on PATS Feed
X-Trader on TT feed

X-trader with its native TT feed beats others by few hundred mili seconds all other things being equal.

For charting TradeStation, E-signal and CQG are good. CQG is a bit more expensive, they calaim to be more reliable. I use E-signal.

I thought that I would approach the problem from a slightly different angle.
I emailed 2 reputable brokers, namely Interactive brokers and MB trading to see what software they would recommend to use with their FREE data stream.
I will let you know if they ever get around to answering.

Is it valuable as a trading tool?

What would everyone recommend for a mid- to- longer term equity trading program??

How do you define a mid to longer term equity trading program???

I simply mean that I am not doing nearly as much day trading as holding positions for a few months--sometimes longer.

While most of the blackbox and AI trading systems are designed for scalpers and day traders, I have seen many that distinguish between short and long- term signals.
