$1000.00 with 500.00 intraday margin on YM.

man, that's 100 adverse points to play with minus commissions---- why would you need more for one contract for day trading??

great...this is the point I am trying to get out...you do not need a lot of cash to trade the eminis!

exactly. for intraday trading of one YM contract, with < 4.00 round turn commissions--- why anyone would need more than 500.00 cushion is beyond me--- it's 100 adverse points, minus commissions ofcourse.

For YM and NQ I think 1 car per 5k block is very safe and prudent if you are doing intraday swing trading.

If doing strictly micro scalping then you obviously don't need that much as your stops should be minuscule.
