What Is The Hot China Stock for Gobble Gobble Day?

Ok let's tighten up our China Holdings quick

1. CFSG looks great it dipped a buck and is coming back HOLD

2. CDS has done great it's gone from $8.09 to $9.95 and is heading to the sky.

3. HMIN has gone up the most that's why it's down the most today- it's done a $34.50 to $38 move, if you don't have it wait for a $36 handle...

4. CSIQ has been under a little pressure and is bouncing back I am on the fence here... as I have made a big investment in STP a higher quality name in the space.

5. STP Went up like $6 yesterday, I'll ne honest I'm not punching up the symbol-- too scared-- but they present three times at conferences in December. Nuff said.

There is our China package. It's a pretty fierce one.

Our Retail Names Have Done Well.

I blew the ANF trade watched it go $7.

J Crew has been a very nice ride so far $36 level to near $40 That's going to $48.

I blew the URBN trade watched it go up $4 It's tough to commit to retail folks in this environment- very tricky trading. My hedge fund has given me a few different names I'll be back with those once I take a look...

Morgans Hotel is a bit off retail, it looks interesting I have not bought yet.

Our oil plays to watch for pullback have done so a bit but not enough.

NIHD & GFA our two Brazil plays; we were going to wait a month on.... well we may have to push up that timeframe to next week! Christ GFA was up 10% yesterday....

Those of you who perused this thread in our darkest hours got quite a few nice leads... don't you think?

* Revenue growth up 137% year over year to $386M (vs analysts $355M)
* EPS $0.36 vs analysts $0.28
* The all important (to me) gross margins up to 24.4%
* New production lines lets company expand 2007 capacity from 480 MW to 540 MW
* Next year expanding capacity from 600 MW to 1 GW (2 years ahead of schedule!)
* Guidance for next quarter gross margins up 50 to 100 basis points (fantastic)
* Suntech has currently secured enough silicon to produce more than 530MW in 2008. Based on this level of silicon supply, Suntech expects revenues to be in the range of $1.9 billion to $2.1 billion for the full-year 2008. (Analysts currently at $1.95B)
* Analyst day on Dec 11th
* Overall polysilicon procurement looking much better going forward



Suntech along with First Solar are the two stocks who have held up best in this selloff and are emerging as the two leaders

The $1.65 2008 estimates are LOW, way under where the company should hit, something closer to $2.10 I'm betting. At a nice big cap size- this is also a company that mutual funds can actually buy in some scale... in other words it's big but can scoot... like one of those stocks I have always dreamed of owning (RIMM etc. ) I would hold till that analyst day the 11th. and sell before the 20th.... At some point the slower growth of the economy overwhelms the high price of oil and with a good healthy oil turn down these alternative oil plays will lose their momentum investors... there is still a good core investing group here though and I hope to hold this stock a long Time I think we got a great price. So I guess my answer is if it goes ballistic I'll sell in the window I described (Dec 11- 19) if not, I'd like to hold this a year.

Because the market is vulnerable to whip saw I took SIRT off the table. It's up massive in just a few days . I perused todays PR and Journal article... I mean I think it's just the same story. If I'm wrong I'll kick myself but this may retrace hard. ~ stony
 
Damn the freakin' " Stocks " section is limp on ET I'm the only one doing anything.

Boy what a disconnect the Gov gives out 08 growth today reduced to something like 2.7% ok so to work a quick recession in in qtr 1, 2... We need to stop quick! Or the Fed's lowering will be a big mistake. I do hear the slowdown is coming we probably can't trust these numbers but if they are right... it's going to be short and shallow. And THAT's already priced into the market.
