If there was a real democracy in the US, not the watered-down bullshit version of lies and misinformation then the mafia in DC could be replaced in weeks. However the real power in the US is the multinational corporation that has even chosen to relocate to foreign countries they only maintain their propaganda organs and paymasters in washington.

In "social democracies" people are taxed in much higher rates than medieval subjects ever were. "Tax-authority" nowadays has much more power over commoners than medieval king, queen etc. ever had.
Can we ever return to truly constitutional republic America had been until Great War? I doubt it.

Universal Healthcare....
Soon our very lives will be determined by some washington beaucrat. (Except of course those that can afford to pay the future Universal Healthcare tax, AND the premium for a private policy, that is, if the future US Laws allow private citizens to seek private care. Canadian laws currently don't)
Imagine the conditions that the Feds will impose to acquire care.
