A friend of mine had a ministry. The guy was really hyper spiritual, prayed for hours and read his Bible daily and never hesitated to talk to people. We would load up people into my Camaro, well load up one or two at best, and take an hour drive to a Black church that had really loud music on Wednesdays. The people we took were homeless guys and people from a half way house. We would pray on the trip and these thoroughly messed up people would learn that they can put their sins on the cross and Jesus would comfort them, most saw visions and could tell us stuff that was very interesting, the ministry was blessed like that. There were a couple of things I learned from that.
One, nobody changes over night, these guys could get that experience and couple days later try to kill one of us. We got used to attempts on our lives really, it was part of the ministry. The other thing that I learned was that when we were praying with them there was no condemnation at all, I would normally be very condemning of molesters and killers but in the car, while Jesus was ministering, I had nothing against them at all, they were just needy...
