You know the committee had to give The One the Peace Prize - the only question was when. Since it is now apparent that he's going to be subpar at best and beat out Carter at worst, the best time to give him the prize is now. It only incurs additional ridiculousness down the road.

And don't give me any blather about past winners and historic awards. Modern winners of the Nobel Peace Prize are not even a shadow of former winners. Even more telling, look at some who did not win, such as Mahatma Gandhi. Arafat wins one? A "peace" prize for the International Atomic Energy Agency (idly standing by while new nations become nuclear powers) and another for Al Gore for Glowbull Warmening, but none for Ghandi?

LOL. Only ignorant blithering idiots put any stock at all in this award.

EDIT: And what about Corazon Aquino? More deserving of the award than Arafat, Algore, Obama and the IAEA put together.

Given the world we live in it's really no surprise that Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. After all, it's a T-Ball nation we have created. No scores are kept, everyone makes the team, everyone plays regardless of skill and best of all, everyone gets a trophy at the end of the year. Apparently, T-ball has higher standards than the Nobel committee. At least they wait till the end of the year to give the trophies to all the "winners". Obama got his right up front.
