What is the best way you can give back to people in your community?

I give back to all the kids in my community. I tell them to go to the library and learn useful stuff... and stay off my lawn...

LOL; i have done that also, but told them to say off my lawn when it was wet LOL.
I heard on the news someone screamed @ kids on his lawn but its because the loser sued him when his kid fell down on the lawn!!

I gave some NRA + Christian magazines to an old folks home/library, but scratched out my name 95% of the time; dont want many or any to know exactly how many NRA mags i have LOL.

What is the best way you can give back to people in your community?

When i was younger this never really bothered me, when i was in my early 20's and i figured out trading the only mindset was:

"make money, then if its a good year stroke a cheque to the charity of your choice." Party your ass off!!!!"

This mindset was fine when i first started to trade when i was 20, make money try to be a good guy then party, then repeat the cycle.

But now that im 33, i start to realise that staring at charts and just doing math all day, and adding lines to a chart doesnt feel quite so important, the party ended, and now i add no value to society, im just moving pieces of paper around all day. Chasing a number i will probably never achieve, at first it was a million now its 10, but its just a perpetual grind that never gets there.

All of a sudden my life looks pretty empty, i really want to have the ability to legitimately help someone, not just stroking a cheque, or throwing 3 bucks to some homeless guy while you walk past him.

Especially after the shocking images tonight, so i ask you guys,

Where is the best place you can add value to society, by contributing and actually helping someone, not just a cheque?

I studied psychopaths, quite seriously actually, for my own education. 90% of "needy" people are con artist psychopaths. All the do-gooders in the public sector are such a joke. One wealthy city and county in California got it's various agencies together to see if they could work together. They found that four families were receiving two thirds of all their monies! I doubt if they asked for it back too, they just cover up their stupidity.

The whole idea that we can distribute our money and do some good with it is very flawed unless we do it in a way of helping people to help themselves, keep the tax burden low, and suppress the psychopaths.

I hired 25 English grammar teachers, I wrote the text and exercises and English was taught to the young uns in my fav. gal's village, 7-days/week, ongoing classes. I put in time too. So did she. I paid all salaries with attractive bonuses for production.

In her village unemployment has destroyed many families. Factories have gone under. How to solve this at least in part?

Thailand has never been occupied so English is rarely spoken, yet it is the one skill that can get a young fella into the top nice paying jobs in the massive hotel industry that's booming. And I sure as heck was not impressed with the English skills of the currently employed folk. I noo I could do better.

I have personally secured placement for 41 people in jobs that require English with the slant to UK and US style/accents stretching all the way from Phuket to Chiangrai. The project continues.

These young uns then send money home to support Ma and Pa. Its a beautiful thing. They now don't need to scrounge for veggies in the jungle or eat chicken or pork just once in 10 days. They can afford to have 3 solid meals per day.

Guess i could probably volunteer to tutor math, i got a 93% in my university calculus class, the only one i ever took cause it was necessary for an economics degree, but math and numbers have always made sense to me.

Working on setting up classes for young uns in Math in addition to ongoing English classes

Its a work in progress as I write the study books

But this I do know for sure ....

Passing grade will only be given to students who can solve the following problem - for these students I will secure a scholarship to Chulalongkhorn University for their bachelor program in engineering/science




Solve long-hand, no computers, calculators etc.,

Firstly, this is not a business, there is no income to me, all the money spent to help comes from my pocket. There is a considerable outflow of money all the time. This can be a heavy load for fellas who want to get into the help-the-needy-help-themselves phenomenon

Others might find it and jump in to help regardless the country. The recipients of the help have already promised me to pay it forward. I have the formula which I'd love to share with others who have the money for their own project, desire and inclination to help people of their choice. It could be Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia etc., but for me its Thailand aka Land of Smiles. My focus is HERE

Zero in on a 3rd world country you love, one that's done a number on your soul and stopped you dead in your tracks and transfixed you. What got me was the poor people have zip in terms of money but shame a rich man in terms of happiness, generosity and willingness to share a meal that would cut down their share to no more than a mere 10% of the food available. This bowled me over for days. The decision came slowly but it came strong.

Cut out all middlemen, thus ensuring the money goes 100% to the families that need it. This dispenses with the liability of sales commissions.

You will have to put in the time and be considerably inconvenienced as most of the time when you've started there is no real hotel in the village you've selected to help. But you will solve this too. There is always a way. Intention is akin to a sharp knife - cut thru' anything. In my case now, a mere few miles from the village there are 4 decent hotels with a good buffet breakfast.

Yes Sir, it surely is, ditto for every Sales gig I did before trading - I always noticed this staggering peculiarity - as soon as I got my commission checks and these were always large, within 8-10 hours thereafter, I'd get depressed because I always ran into the same wall, namely, "what now?" Back to square 1 = a meaningless existence, selfish to the hilt.

Right after I first made the decision to go austere I called the Salvation Army and told them to send their biggest truck over - the drivers were shocked at the merchandise I was giving away. I said to them, "no I'm not stoned or drunk, I've smartened up"

Some entitled bitch from 2 doors down came in short shorts with half her ass hanging out and asked me to give her my TVs and stereo - heck this was a high-end stereo worth over 100k. I told her to fck off - she thought she'd offer p*ssy and then take it all. Circular motion with the right hand.

traded /invested over 10 years, but i never made it my life, even if i worked it 6 days a week X12 hours =72 hours a week. I've also worked 7 days a week that is too much, unhealthy, counterproductive.....I like what Louis Palau[ Argentina] said ''if you dont sell the corn, the people will curse you''

I sold a farm, had a swamp on it , great place /fun to hunt ducks. But a swamp of selfishness is a great place to get stuck, 2 .LOL. I noticed on my hi volume dove hunts in Argentina , the Hispanic people really valued/loved politeness/manners, just like a book noted. Thanks

I don't want you to get in too quick and make mistakes with underestimation of the costs involved

Average salary in Thailand is 7k Baht/mo. ( 1USD = 35 Baht)

I pay all my staff teachers 12k per month each
x 25 teachers = 300k/mo.

Then throw in accommodation costs, all are from Bangkok so need a place to stay until you put up a building to house them all and the CENTER with classrooms etc., with playground for volleyball, swimming pool etc.,

Hotel = 1,000 Baht/day but I scored a monthly deal for 10k/month continuous repeat business = 250k/mo.

Village families chip in to cook for the entire gang they all get paid salaries of 8k/mo. each, generally there are about 20 such helpers in total = 160k/mo

Everyone has a motorbike and for those who don't I've worked out a deal with Honda to supply brand new Scoopy-is for everyone at big discount

Total is approx. 710k Baht = USD 21k not counting outlays for motorbikes which are a one-time expense

Then multiply by 1.5 for safety purposes = $30k

There you have it - $30k per month you have to have that in order to be sure the process will continue unperturbed.
