What is happening with Asian futures..?

Quote from chanster:

lol i guess when the vix is 10 and the market hasn't had a 1% down day in an almost 110 year record 17 weeks anything down is shocking

agree,,,,havent seen a 1% drop in over 4 months....

anything down is quite shocking especially a 2 day selloff...bulls would be really upset to see a down day tomorrow, would catch them totally off guard.

It's the Australian market that's really getting flogged. SPI futures down 2.7% as I post.

Lovely. for the last few weeks ive been starved of volatility for my swing trades, (though position trades gone well)

captured a good chunk of it :D

Quote from ElatedMaverick:

Wall St will wake up to another two big takeovers and probably shrug off the asian sell-off.

1. PHOENIX (AP) -- Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. said Sunday it will acquire the Phelps Dodge Corp. for $25.9 billion in cash and stock to create the world's largest publicly traded copper company.

whats the second one???

Quote from S2007S:

thanks, i did come across that but thought the PD takeover was a bigger deal. Im sure tomorrow we open down and end up closing at record levels for the 19th time.

The spin has already begun:

Nov. 20 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. economy will pick up steam early next year after growing at the slowest pace since 2003 last quarter, the index of leading indicators is likely to show today.

``By the first quarter, it will be clear that the economy is weathering the housing shock,'' said Ethan Harris, chief U.S. economist at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. in New York. ``Cooling home prices are putting a damper on consumption, but most other drivers of consumption point to strength.''
