What is a good trading platform?

Hello, this is my first post so be gentle. I'm sure you hear this alot but I'm looking for a reliable live trading platform, which I can use for day trading. I have tried one which was not good and am experimenting with a new one which doesn't seem up to scratch. I'm sure there must be a common one which experienced traders use. Can someone throw some suggestions, which I can demo, my way?
