As I do more trades, it becomes more important to have an efficient method to keep track of things. For tax purposes and keeping track of things, is there a best practices way to do this?
The obvious idea is to do something in Excel. But maybe there is a software package designed to keep track of everything (including trading fees and dividend payouts, etc.).
Does anybody have a method or a software they find makes things easy and effective?
