What if your platform sends hidden info about your next possible trade?...

Quote from traderum:

I have the suspicion that the TWS platform does inform the market maker
(and/or the brokers own trading team... ie. those guys at the broker who trade
against their own clients by spying their actions etc...) about your intention
when you open a mask and begin filling it... long before you push the final
button to send out the order...
Can this be true? :-)

Visiting this message board is like being in the twilight zone.

I'll bet sponsor revenues generated from this site are at all time lows.
no actual traders left to click on links. nothing but loonies => wackos left to start threads

There are some ideas so wrong that only a very intelligent person could believe in them.

Actually, this is known fact among all brokers.
Choose to ignore it at your own peril.

True. It would be foolish for a broker to not track the patterns of its most successful clients.

Why would an IT professional work for pennies as a technical recruiter? They see all the opportunities come through the funnel, and cherry-pick one they take themselves, when the right one comes along.

Is anyone here so foolish that they would not watch how their richest acquaintance got rich?

Quite the opposite if you have any ethics.

I can't believe many of you are getting sucked into this thread by someone claiming that the PAPER TRADER is front running him.

Suggestion to the OP: close your eyes, imagine you're long 5000 shares of stock XYZ. say it out loud three times and then turn on the quote. I bet those damn markets will then front run your imaginary position as well.

for your own benefit.

Yes, it seems IB (and the network they have formed up for this) is doing the funding (ie. some orgs & corps seem to have set up such an experimental trade network using real market participation & data w/offsets).
I guess it is a zero-sum game for them, they don't lose anything,
in the end they bring the balances back to initial levels between them.
That's my guess of course.
Their demo web site says the demo would use previous week's data or so,
but IMO that simply cannot be true.
One more time: you're not fucking trading with anyone!

IB's paper trader links together real market data and then from there, it adds all the other paper trader's orders. What you see is the real market + every paper trader's orders.

Besides, who the fuck would waste their time being a market maker for a fake market?
