What has Obama done???

Quote from L-Kabong:

Further, you support the right of abortion
I'm pretty sure that is NOT what I said. I said "I don't oppose it", NOT that I support it.
For example I'm opposed to Obama more than I support Romney. There is a difference.
and I assume the right of doctors to perform abortions and remain free from criminal attacks.
As long as it's legal, Yes
Framing abortion as murder is incendiary and tends to provoke unstable people to attack abortion providers.
Tough fucking shit, if you/they don't have the stomach to call it what it is, then don't do it to begin with.

I am strong enough to stand in front of an abortion clinic to protect the clinic and its personnel from attacks by fanatics. Are you strong enough to stand with me?
Mentally? Physically?
I'm sure I am, but I don't feel strongly enough about it to get that involved to be honest with you.

Now, you want to march on congress in protest armed to the teeth, give me a call.

I like the idea, but I don't think I want to be a martyr yet.

Quote from Tsing Tao:

The issue I have is that the above example makes pregnancy seem like you were outside on a picnic and all of a sudden it began raining.

Pregnancy can be avoided by simple concepts - the use of a condom, for example. Intelligence is also a big factor in preventing pregnancy.

Agreed. But there are people of compromised intelligence. Plus condoms have a 2% failure rate.

But I have a question. Who opposes abortion but does not oppose the pill?

It's been a fun day.
You liberals always make it entertaining around here.
You guys need to tell your friends about ET.
The more, the merrier.
Thanks.

you think thats funny. watching a black and white thinker in action gives the rest of us a chuckle or two too.

can you guys ever manage to think over two steps ahead? i am guessing checkers let alone chess would not be your best game

I don't oppose either, but they aren't even in the same league.

Quote from L-Kabong:

Works for some, not for all. I can justify abortion, but I cannot convince you that it is not murder. And you can't convince me that it is. I accept our differences, and I respect your point of view and feel that I understand the depth of feeling that underlay your position. I don't like abortion, but I don't equate it as murder and don't want to criminalize it. I'd prefer it whither away naturally by effective and available birth control, and the prudent use of such birth control.

I will keep working with you, brother Bong.
You'll get there one day.
I understand.
There was a time when I didn't understand things that I now understand.

Brother Free, if you only knew how funny your post is.
If I went into detail, I doubt you'd understand.

Yeah, I'm just a simple guy.
Not very smart.
What an honor to have you think so.
Thanks, brother Free.

It doesn't seem so. But the pill can be an abortifacient if fertilization occurs during its use. The pill can suppress ovulation but not always. It can cause changes within the woman that impede conception but does not always prevent conception. It disrupts implantation, and in the end, fools the body into not recognizing an incipient pregnancy. Menstruation occurs, and an embryo, if present, is aborted.

I'd like to know how those who regard abortion as murder view the use of the pill. In cases of conception, is it "murder" also? If so, that's logically consistent. If not, then why not and at what point in a pregnancy does a terminated pregnancy constitute the murder of a baby?
