How many Gamestops can they buy, just to hurt wall street? They will be out of money.

How come the losses are 70b, on a market cap < 20billion? Who are the beneficiaries?

That should be a genuine concern.

Suspect the downside potential would have smart players getting off their shorts at relatively good prices while they still can.

The crazy thing is the company can just issue secondary offering of 30million shares, underwritten by the hedge-fund/bank-associate that lost > 2billion on paper. Underwrite @ $50. All of a sudden they will have 30million unrestricted shares to sell to these suckers. Company reaps unexpected capital and hedgefund makes money/reduces their loss. That should be legal if what these suckers did is.

lots of things could happen to get the stock price lower. but the people planning these moves have to be careful about being sued by shareholders and others.

as you may know, yesterday robinhood had a class action filed against them for only allowing sell orders in gamestop.

you just can't go in there with an angry, red face and take actions that cause people to lose billions. the lawyer-sharks will show up and go through everything you did.

Some people lost big and others won big. The money did not just disappear. It just changed hands. Sadly some of the WSB folks still have not locked in their gains. Most people would have sold much lower after such big gains.

WSB initiated this run in GME but other hedge funds piled in once they saw the potential to cause a massive short squeeze and make big bucks. There is no mercy for the people on the wrong side of a trade.
