1. I obviously support the free market, the government hasnt done anything in the last 20 years but further contribute to the mess. The thing is that if i thought the government had any sense of personal responsiblity, then maybe i could support keynes. The fact of the matter is that no one wants to slow down an economy in good times, like the late 90's so we are left with a permanent cluster fuck.
No one wanted to substantially raise taxes, in the late 90's, greenspan dropped interest rates in the 90's as well. If the government was in anyway responsible they would have upped income taxes significantly as well as interest rates in the late 90's, and they would have saved the money in preperation for a collapse, and in preperation for inevitably having to drop income tax rates when times got tough.
The fact of the matter is that once the government gets their hands on money, they send it back out the door. There is no such thing as planning for the future when the government is involved. It is a permanent revolving door, whereby the person willing to spend the most today gets rewarded. That is the quintessential problem with government intervention in economic issues, and this is why i dont support government. Everyone wants to be popular, I get it, but in the free market if you choose popularity over running your business properly, you dont stick around for very long, you go out of business very quickly when you start making popular decisions which are bad for business, in the government you just keep going and going and going, until you bankrupt the nation.
2. Probably not, but thats what we need, and thats why Obama has to go, if he doesnt want to support legitimate reform then he is nothing more than an obstacle at this point.
5. Now you seem to be back into the idea that the tea party is somehow overrun by racists, which is what i disagreed with to begin with. Infact you yourself made the statement you do not believe the tea party is racist so im wondering what made you change your mind so drasticallly in recent days.

Quote from RCG Trader:
So you support Hayek. Okay. Cool. My question then is, if we go into a nose dive, should be we allow the plane to crash, or go for a soft landing. Central bankers and their policies determine this, in the US, anyways.
2. I don't think the anybody has the testicular fortitude to support Ryan's bill. Maybe in private, but in public, they all want their jobs back. And let's face it, Congressman and Senator has some nice job perks.
4. Mea Culpa
5. I honestly believe the Tea Party is trying, but they have to find a way to define what they are and what they are not. More importantly, what they are not.
Take Ron Paul for example. For many, the phrase "states rights" is newspeak for "if the south would won we would have it made". Ron Paul is not for that view. He has not shown it anywhere, but folks like Stormfront and VDare try to co-opt his message. This will be detected every single time. And rather than saying the kooks have found another host, get out the kook spray, they thro the host under the bus.
The Tea Party must find a way to fight this.
