What Happened to MF Global?

Quote from LEAPup:

You may be onto something here. Think about it. Corzine is or was in bed with the dumbocrats. If he got popped now, and spilled his guts, I bet the dumbocrats would look even worse than they do now. i.e., not good for obummer...

Things that make you go hmmm....

They could always go the Vince Foster route, though...

The MFG trustee and former FBI director, Louis Freeh, is also being investigated by the Treasury Dept for raking in lots of money from an Iranian terrorist group.

Oh, and our boy Freeh is leading the Penn St. pedophile probe (I guess Barney Frank wasn't available?). This all sounds like a dark comedy.

Speaking of such people in high places, here's a timely article:

Get your head out of your arse.
If you want to cite anedotal evidence, the one UK customer I spoke to had not received back any money. Zilch.

That's great. I can't speak to UK clients. However, I can speak to the US clients I have been in touch with, and they have all received 65-70% of their money back.

Of course a cynic might say that these people are voters ... whereas the Brits ....

Quote from TraDaToR:

Common. There was no way to "invite" people potentially facing criminal charges to collaborate and reveal how they created their own mess? Or even just paying them a bit less than 6 figures for their good job? I hope some of them will have a bit of honor and renounce it, but I won't hold my breath...

Are you saying that's common practice or "c'mon"?

And it's not as if every one of the thousands of MFG employees had their hands dirty in this mess. The risk team, from what I've been told by former MFG employees, were the ones who stayed on to aid the executor in the wind down process.

I mean "C'mon". I don't say everybody had dirty hands but for example, one who will likely get paid is Bradley Abelow, former COO, because "Brad"(...) is really helpful according to Louis Freeh.

This guy was just under Corzine and had for sure a really important role in the firm's policies that led to the bankruptcy. Perhaps he is not a criminal, respected laws... but he is at least extremely incompetent. How can he pretend to be paid anything when some UK customers are still waiting to get one penny of their money? Even if you are totally innocent, you can realize that the customers situation is far worse than yours and that you can't expect to be paid anything.

Running a brokerage is not that complicated when you are well-known like MF . All they got to do is churn commissions and ensure that your customers fund are secure, and even at this they failed...
