What happened end of July 2020?

I see quite a few strategies fail in the last days of July 2020.
From the chart it looks like a strong trend upwards. I guess it is more smooth/stronger than usually and thus many strategies which rely on reversion fail here.



Does anyone know what news it events happened at that time which might have induced the strong trend?

Typical weak summer rally\sell off in JULY\2019;
good uptrend JULY 2020, in SPXL/weekly charts.
Polar bears really slammed them down in SEPT + looks like longs sold, also, in 20/20 hindsight................................................................................ SEPT sell offs are common.
