Anyway, I noticed most of my trades getting taken yesterday and the day before. Some days the floor just seems to turn the NX feature off.

how can they turn off the NX feature???? i would swear that TXN has control over that button!!!!! sometimes i hit some pretty good size in TXN and nothing happens.....hmmmmmmmmm.

The original normal position was supposed to be 4 million, but 3 billion 378 million went through.

That is 844.5 x normal 4 mill position.
Huge error, of over 44,000 %

They mean to tell us that there are no internal safeguards for errors?

No. All but 622mil was cancelled 'before' execution. Therefor only 622 mil was executed.

macal425 thanks for the correction

So that was a mistake of 155 x original position

or over 8,000 % final executed error

Any details of when did the orders get canceled? Were they before arriving at the specialist's posts, or after and in between printing the gap down prints?

Supply like that would have caused some additional selling from floor participants? Clean up many stops etc..

I was in HD long and bailed when the first indications of the market tanking, just after 3:00. I bailed at $25.45 and it dropped all the way to $24.50 just before close. It dropped .50 in 1 minute!

Just to show how it goes both ways yesterday, I was short HD going with the prevailing trend when this happened. It was a good payday for me. Then heard the news and figure they would try and cover some and went long near the bottom.

Yes ...

the selloff yesterday was so unrelenting that I commented on it elsewhere even before I got wind of this story. It seemed like someone was selling in a pretty steady manner beginning after lunch.

According to the press releases the "mistake" had nothing to do with earlier selling...the orders all hit the market at the same time.
