My guess is large orders triggered by ALGOS that scan the news and place trades accordingly.

Spikes to blow through SLs and empty account instantly are back in fashion thats all, seemed to stop for a few years, FX used to have crazy 100pt instant moves all the time.

I was short the ES earlier, flattened for no good reason other than I was ahead a little.. glad I did, I'm sure my stop would not have gotten filled at a good price to say the least... gadz...
