I'm sorry to see that you were so hellbent on answering my reply to the paranoid moron that believes that one must take into consideration conspiracy theories whenever one trades holiday shortened sessions. I see that you posted this on Friday evening right around 9PM EST. Hope you didn't miss out on any great fireworks displays!

Since you are so concerned about my 4th of July, you will be happy to know that my family and I did in fact enjoy the tremendous view of the fireworks display over the San Francisco Bay from the Berkeley Hills. As usual, we once again had perfect weather for a fantastic display. The rest of the weekend was spent up in gorgeous Lake Tahoe. We are truly fortunate to live in the Golden State!

Chokatoga, since I see from your profile that you list among your hobbies of "working out, trading, and of course women . . ." you are also a JAYHAWKS FAN - - - Tell me, did they CHOKE or did they simply lose out to a better team in the Finals?

Great to hear you had a nice weekend. The Jayhawks didn't play their best that night, but you have to give credit where credit is due...Syracuse's athletes were too much.

Haven't read every post in this thread, but whats up with the real low volume during the tank of the YM. Nothing like 10000 traded. Bid dropped like a stone on very little trading.

Why there aren't "00" and "000" keys on keyboards used by these places is beyond me. Does it really cost that much more to make a suitable keyboard, esp. when you're trading $B per year?

If exchanges can't bust trades, then you're opening the door for mkt manipulation on a massive scale.

It sucks to bust trades, but alternative would pretty soon be real chaos.

I am unsure about this issue. On my tick-charts there is
also only thin volume, but it can well be that this is
a market data issue. A/C/E, which is build in conjunction
with EUREX technology, maybe, does not send out full
streaming tick data.
EUREX has invented this dumb 2 second snapshot policy.
Some data vendors get a streaming EUREX feed (RealTick/FIDES)
while many others get only 2 second snapshots.
 
My condolences to those who are net short after longs got busted thurs... looks like were in for a strong open :eek:

If exchanges can't bust trades nothing bad would happen. Manipulation is part of the game. A beneficial outcome would be that the big trader who makes the mistake pays for his own fault instead of the little man..
