What exactly are going to regulate with Facebook?

Lets get this clear, I don't use Facebook and think Zuckerberg is a total asshole but what exactly are going to regulate? These clowns are running around saying Facebook needs to be regulated. Regulate what?

If you want to put your personal information out on the Internet it is public domain at that point and can be can be used for whatever. Whats the problem?

Every country has data privacy laws and they vary considerably. Operating as a business in these countries FB must comply with those laws. Otherwise the countries have the legal authority to block FB on national security grounds and contractual failure.

If does not matter if you click I agree to a Californian user agreement and you are in the UK, Germany, France or Australia, FB must be compliant to each nation's laws.

So they have a big problem now and could be rightfully blocked by the respective national courts. To be fair, it is a threat to democracy operating as it has been.
