What does your day trade station entail?

I asked my colleague, Joe Easton for his feedback:

For setup to me it starts with a clean atmosphere.

Having a clean desk and working area is important to keep a clear head. The next step is charts with several time frames and enough screen space to allow those charts to remain up. Meaning the chart needs to be on the screen to assist. Having to toggle between screens reduces effectiveness.

For charts, I use weekly, daily, 4 hr, 2hr 1 hr 15 min and 1500 ticks.

For news I like to have this app run in the background: www.bettertrader.co or www.tradethenews.com

Strong CPU and RAM and video cards are important:


Recommended Minimum
Processor
Intel Core i5 or i7
Operating System
64-bit Windows® 10
Memory
12GB RAM
Hard Drive
128GB SSD with 20% of free disk space
Video Card
1GB DDR3 or better
System Setting Specifications

Hibernate and stand by modes cannot be used

Hard drive power-saving features should be disabled.



Internet Access
Internet service via a high-speed connection, such as DSL, cable, or fixed wireless/wireless local loop (WLL).

Wireless Internet connections are not recommended, especially broadband over a Wi-Fi card.

Dial-up is not supported.



Monitor Setups
These specifications are appropriate for single- and dual-monitor setups.

If you have three or four monitors, you will need a better processor, video card, and network connection.

Just max out my ram to 128GB, I figured if I am doing this for serious fun, I may just spend some dough to get serious.

128gb of RAM?! That's insane to picture. If you are going to invest at that rate you might as well get a software upgrade like DAStrader so it trades at the price because the servers are right there on Wall Street, otherwise you could have 1,000,000 RAM and it would be meaningless.

I just upgraded my lazy boy setup from phone to the new Galaxy Tab S7 tablet. Has 256gb of memory and 8gb RAM.

Can't help it, gotta ask, does it look good in landscape mode or do you stick with the portrait vertical aspect when you use it? Do you use the keyboard much?

I have 4 brokerage platforms, each one is memory hog. Not saying I watch all 4 but ram is cheap and why not

I stick with vertical and just utilize the digital keyboard. I've never been much for landscape mode on any device.

Never understood, but that's ok, why anyone would use anything but landscape.
