Gun deaths are way down the list of causes of death. Medical errors take out more people than guns by a very long shot. I'd say that time spent studying healthy living and learning how to use natural stuff to stay out of the grasp of the greedy know-it-all "scientific" doctors is way better spent than time worrying about gun violence.

If times and places of gun violence are studied they can be avoided and even your rather small chance of catching a bullet can be greatly reduced [unless you live in an inner city which is a whole 'nuther world which most people avoid like the plague 'cause it is]

HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher criticized liberals “who don’t know sh*t about guns” for speaking about gun control and criticized recent gun control pushes as “a little bit elitist and a little bit racist,” on Friday.

Maher said, “[D]oes it really matter if we are banning certain guns? Because, I see that the liberals, they talk about guns — now, I’m not a gun expert, but I see a lot of people talking about guns who don’t know sh*t about guns. I know a little about — it’s like when the pope talks about vaginas, you know. And that’s when the conservatives stop listening. Like, I know a lot of them think that AR-15. ‘AR’ stands for ‘assault rifle.’ It doesn’t. and it’s not an assault rifle. It’s not an automatic weapon. Those are illegal. There are a lot of weapons they’re not even talking about banning that basically do the same thing as an AR-15, because you have to squeeze each round.”

Maher added, “[T]he Washington Post says in 2015, 39 deaths from mass shootings. Now, of course, we should say, any death is too many, blah, blah, blah. But, let’s get real. A lot of this is a little bit elitist and a little bit racist, like you were starting to say. It’s like when shootings happen to white people in nice places.”

Maher later said that there is gun control legislation he supports, and that he stops listening, “When it starts with the democrats with, ‘Well, I’m a strong supporter of the Second Amendment.'” And agreed the “glorification” of guns should be taken out of the American psyche.

Mother Shoots, Kills Intruder Lurking in Child's Bedroom

Hero.

A woman in Portland, Oregon, returned home with her two young children, aged 5 and 10, to find an intruder lurking in one of the children's bedrooms, according to police.

The mother shot and killed the intruder.



Officers went to the woman's home around 1:45 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a homeowner shooting someone inside her home.


The woman, 33, said she had returned home with her two children, ages 5 and 10, when she found a stranger in one of her child's bedrooms. She was armed with a handgun and fired at least one shot at the man.



Police said the 59-year-old intruder was found dead at the scene.

The mother is cooperating with law enforcement.



Officers did not arrest the homeowner, who they said was cooperating with investigators. Once the investigation is finished, the case will be presented to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office to determine whether any charges will be filed.


Firearms are the great equalizer. Kudos to this woman for protecting her family.
