What does gun violence really COST

Firearms safety class held in Northern Indiana this past weekend. Couple of my friends attended. Just seemed like a bit of an odd setting to me. Less than professional IMO.

Mine was done in a pizza joint. Of course, all the students (me included) at the table had years of firearms experience, but you still had to check the box.

Lowering the legal age to carry a concealed weapon is stupid. A nineteen year old is not mature enough for a firearm unsupervised.
I agree. While levels of maturity are certainly a variable, I'd put a concealed carry age at about 25. Yeah, I'll take the heat for that. My answer would be, then raise it to 30. Too many idiots out there think a gun is the end all, and be all to every problem they have.

Not mature enough to be entrusted with something as important as the vote, either.

I'm OK with that too. Raise voting age. You certainly shouldn't be voting until you've got "skin in the game", and it's unlikely you do at 18.

Of course, liberals would wet their panties on that.

Not only that.... our brain isn't fully developed until about age 25... so we haven't yet addressed or even fully formulated our feelings and opinions about "adult issues".

An 18-19 year old is still basically an adolescent.

Where did you get that our brains aren't fully developed until 25?

An interesting fact I'd come across in my studies of Biology. Apparently, the transition from childhood to adulthood takes longer and is more involved than just growing pubic hair and dealing with surging hormones. Behaviorally, makes sense.

I've heard this urban myth...fact is our brains are constantly developing/changing faced with new challenges/stimuli

...it's called "learning" from past mistake/experience:D

Yeah, I'm more inclined to agree. Sorry, Scat. The idea that brains aren't fully developed until 25, when you consider how previous generations had to accomplish so much before adulthood - not sure I can concur.
