What does BTC and dark ships have in common

The concepts of dark ships, dark fleet and ship-to-ship transfers are interesting.

As you are most likely aware, BTC is pseudo-anonymous and with the recent targeting of crypto mixers to obfuscate ownership by FinCEN, cannot have it's "AIS" spoofed.

Hmph. I had to look that up. "mixers." Interesting.

So these things make BTC anonymous again?

No. It's a common misconception. Search on Chainaylsis's screen captures.

Even at this scale, all gateways to fiat are effectively monitored

Fed's are more interested in taking down the bigboys and monitor flows from the foot soldiers up. This one is tangent but the upside of all crypto's is the ability to track better than fiat.

I'm not an insider and make no claims, the above is just artifacts from my own due diligence.

I suppose the analogy with dark ships holds then, Bitcoin mixers are like entities, usually rogue governments, creating dark ships to transact when the global system wants to prevent them. In fact, they're never ghost, only dark, and tracked by various authorities who act upon it if and when leverages are required.

Commonality :

BTC -
basically we
buy low sell high and/or
sell high buy low.
Then we earn tons of money.

Dark ship -
can only buy low sell high and must be done secretly.
Then they earn tons of money.
