Good point, that's why we keep the CME squawk box going all day...less "chatter" from the traders (except for the positive and helpful comments).

We see that hurriedly-hidden bullwhip laying under the Boot Camp trading room desks... :D


The photo op-closed vertical blinds in the 2-story training room (pix 2 & 3) obscure a nice view of the mountains ringing the NW/N/NE sides of Vegas, as I recall... All adds up to one nice trading atmosphere.

Before the tech bubble popped I traded at a retail office that was literally standing room only with all the visitors and wannabe traders. There were some real characters there. The office had a few mouse throwers, but there was this one guy in his early twenties who cussed constantly when he was in a trade. It wasn't to himself in a whisper either; he sometimes got out of his seat and yelled at his screen and usually punched his chair or desk. It was probably his way of dealing with stress but it made the newer people around him nervous. Most everyone else found his antics funny and he was the butt of a lot of jokes. That is until that guy in Atlanta shot up his daytrading office and killed a bunch of people. Not too many people found this guy funny then. Anyway, the firm hired some burly guy to sit in the lobby as security and within a month the place was back to usual. I met some decent folks there, the female staff were real knockouts, and it was fun going out for food and drinks after trading, but seriously nothing beats trading from home. Especially not having to commute...can't put a price on that.
 
Reminds me of the week I spent trading in an office where this guy just cussed and yelled at the IBM specialist all day. What was funny though was that he had this litte japanese feng shui waterfall thingy next to him that was supposed to be calming. The irony was hilarious.
 
i used to trade next to this chinese guy who would cluck like a chicken with his arms and all when he was in the money. he was a freak, but this guy made some ridiculous money. lots of "freaks" out there in trading.

Went to visit Echo N.Y today. It was one of the best prop trading floors I,ve seen. Although enviornment is important , that alone will not make you a success.:)
 
i've seen the echo in santa monica. Carpet floors, regular monitors, lights are all off.

Nothing to impress.

What can you say about the NY office?
