Some people are just so frigging naive. Any US administration will send troops and ground forces to places where there is a serious perceived threat. No US President will send troops just for the fun of it, including GW Bush. There are sometimes grave errors in judgment made but they still seriously considered all other options. A full blown chaos and war in the middle East or for that matter anywhere in the world will have grave and long lasting negative consequences for life in the US and elsewhere. Hence any future leader will always retain the option to send forces abroad. How those missions are financed should be discussed and it it's true that other nations have not so far paid their fair share in such effort. But it is hilarious how many people on this site believe they can just stay at home and live their happy country side life with sheep, cattle and rifles and nothing that happens on the outside would impact them. Those people are completely disillusioned and misinformed. It boils again down to a lack of intellect and the lack of capability to look at the big picture. You can't have it all. This world is just what it is, a place of dirty compromises, covert operations, and where everyone is first and foremost looking after themselves. Sometimes negotiations alone solve problems, sometimes outright threats, and sometimes wars. Get real folks. Stop showing how stupid you are, it's outright ridiculous to walk around and point fingers at individual presidents and whether they are Republican or Democrat in the grand scheme of things.

You mean like most of the rest of the world lives? Are the Chinese intervening in wars all over the place that do not concern them? The Aussies? New Zealand? Any euro countries?
Russia acted to protect its borders and zone of interest. It went into Syria at the request of the recognized government, something we have done repeatedly in other countries.
Trump is not really a republican, something the republican establishment has been screaming for over a year. For once, they're correct. They are still in denial about Trump and his policies being far more popular than they are however.
