What Do Hedge Funds Think of Technical Analysis?

Really? Says who?

This is the definition of TA. No need to attribute your own interpretations to it.

Good practical definition.
But for the few value type funds that occasionally do very well, Mr Buffet looks like he leads from something else, most likely fundamentals + book value stuff.
Includes but limited to his quote ESG= ''asinine'':caution::caution::caution::caution::caution::caution: , :caution::caution::caution:
Stupid x9+ =asinine. Interesting he was honest enough to forecast he may never do as well as he has, i believe him on that also, not a prediction. One could argue value investing is a strange from of TA , i would not.
Actually any fund or any size trader would have to do very basic study of TA just to enter any order.
One derivatives broker/securities lawyer/ current professor of business joked; a random walker would never pick up$20 off the sidewalk because an efficient market would not allow that /LOL:D:D

Why do you always need to end your sentences with "lol"? Seems a bit condescending, but maybe that's the point.

I maintain that every method which uses price history is technical analysis and within TA there is of course various subsets.

Personally, I think and believe that an experienced trader could be able to trade successfully using a chart alone, but that can be saved for another thread.

I agree with most of that LOL:D:D:caution::caution:EXCEPT I dont thinks its condescending;
its actually quite good for your health to laugh a lot= lol:D:D
''CHART alone'' profits or price + volume alone profits ?? Maybe mostly possible , but i have to wonder if you really would do that??
PeopleSoft trend same as US Steel as MSFT trend not likely. You may say well not the exact same on charts; well 1st + last was quite similiar for a while .
Not a stock tip or LOL here:caution::caution:
