What color is Gold? (questions)

by the way ... for some reason the illiquidity of the ECBOT metals at time continues to amaze me

slippage is higher than on comex ... outside of regular trading hours there are times one can lose
a few dollars and perhaps be stuck with the executed price if not careful.

Good time to short gold?
No
or does it closely follow oil?
Everything follows Gold

I decided to check out the chart because after hearing it said that gold hit a new 17-year high or something;
What did you see on the chart?
What about the seasonal in Dec Comex Gold?
I figure it might be one of those things to do the opposite of the news ...
News follows price.
also whatÕs the best future to trade gold on?
Comex Gold
do you like the mini gold or the 100oz gold? or the other one (never traded that one).
Whatever has the most O.I. & Volume. Gold is Gold.
WhatÕs the best chart to use when you are charting gold out?
Analyze Continuous about 91 days out. Trade the contracts with the most action.
The mini and the 100 oz has low volume so not the best.
Why do you suppose the volume is low?
I was going to say; nice thing about the YG ie mini gold ie the data is free (CBOT is cool :)
End of day data is all over the web. What does that have to do with what to short?

CharlesTrader,

How do you get that chart of continuous gold contract? Special for your charting package?

Not special. I believe many vendor supply delayed continuous charts. This is Tradestation.

Here is another interesting view of the uptrend charateristics.

-I am long on Gold and Silver (via derivative products
with no expiration) for a very long time now.-

:p
do you mean by derivative products with no expiration- gold or silver stocks?:)

no. I mean derivatives with leverage that move according to
the underlining gold or silver, e.g. certificates, warrants.
