An formal accommodation request is a distinction in HR circles backed up by employer/employee disability law.
This has nothing to do with race or religion or anything else Clubber Lang would like to make it out to be.
No, I wasn't insinuating that management was doing anything wrong or improper in this case. It just seems to be somewhat heavy handed, especially since seniors are the fastest growing segment of the workforce (or so I've read). But I guess heavy handedness fairly describes today's workplace.
