Looking at this, it seems there must be grounds for appeal on the sentencing.
The very basis of the idea, is people are equal before the law. is it not? thats in words somewhere, right-so to proactively "make an example" of someone, especially when there is zero proof of the assertion (in this instance, that it would actually discourage people from commiting tax fraud etc) surely would have to be discriminatory, and likely not quite legal.
