there were a few images floated here and elsewhere with walls much taller and wire density much tighter than the image I've shown. Point is, this was done in only few places when they sent the troops to the border as a political publicity stunt.

In any case America's insatiable appetite for drugs is leading to things like "Flacca" (a kind of synth cocaine) which appeared in 2014 and of course Fentanyl, much of which is sent via the post but I guess sorting office conveyors are not as camera friendly as walls. Synthetics which can be made domestically are rising.
Trump's Magnot line is all it is, the thing to fix is why America is so addicted. I spend six months of the year in a major drug producing country and guess what? No sweeping drug problems in society, I don't know anyone local who has even used cocaine once in their lives. Well probably a couple of cops. Healthy normal people don't use drugs.

I've just ordered diamond grit blades and a Diablo carbide infused (rather than grit) to tackle something that I could not access to with a grinder. Thanks Trump for the idea
Perhaps there is better but seems adequate.Myself an a friend entered the UK's robot wars nearly 20 years ago now. One could build a rig using a clamp design and a cam to cut inwards from both sides or just dual blades from one. This would cancel out most of the vibration and could be run very slowly. Far easier than a man putting on pressure by hand if any covertness was needed. Maybe even put it on a little low slung remote controlled rig, zip it up to the fence and have it cut as many as you want with you miles away.

There is a video of Hungary's chainlink fence. It is not a high fence but, they have a lot of border guards. The difference is they immediately, put back across anyone who manages to cross their border. Those with criminal histories, they lock up in container vans they cut up and converted into detention cells. Others they locked up in buildings with steel bars. The same could be done at the US-Mexico border if not for the BS laws of Democrats to coddle and protect illegals (foreigners). Here is the video.

The Maginot Line was an incredibly costly and highly controversial project. In one sense, however, it did exactly what it was designed to do: It forced the enemy to invade France at a different place.
Well there you go. Though it is not even as effective as the Maginot line was.
