Went into a trading firm in NYC... What a bunch of losers

What's the economics of such a prop-shop?

I mean, how much capital do I need to set up a prop-shop...

and how much money I can make annually?

(assuming I hired a bunch of loser traders)...

Any insiders please shed some lights on the business model?

I am seriously thinking of launching a prop-shop...

Nothing wrong with that!

As far as the prop firms go, I agree the traders should at least shower, and look clean as they are around other people in public, and its a matter of self respect and respect for others.

I wouldn't see anything wrong with them coming in wearing clean jeans, a golf shirt, and decent (at least clean) shoes.
Agree

Even sandals and shorts are ok as long as they are clean.

Slobby can mean comfortable
but dirty can only mean broke

its a crowded market and margins are thin. You are 10 years to late for this business, try something else.

I was at the CBOT from september to december. I have no problem with people wearing jeans, shirts and sneakers. I prefer it in fact, but please stop buying those shoes, they are simply horrible:http://www.newbalance.fr/Outdoor/Chaussures

Same goes with the shoes you americans put with suits... those big black leather shoes...What the fuck is that? Suits are meant to be put with italian shoes, right?...:D

The last time I saw an American with style was in 1986.

Loved that show! Where are t.v shows today that had that kind of flair?

And the newest Miami Vice movie with colin ferrel (spelling?), and jamie fox? What a joke of a movie that was! Made me ill!

Bostonian cap-toe ftw! Italian shoes with suits were trendy in 2003.
