Went into a trading firm in NYC... What a bunch of losers

Quote from TIMMY57:

A friend of mine told me that I should go check out this prop firm and on friday I did. What an incredible experience.

I have never in my life seen a group of sleezebags like these losers. Almost everyone looked like they just woke up. I saw a couple of armpit stained shirts, a couple of them had already slobbed food and stained their shirt already. I couldn't imagine that over a half had put on a new shirt for the day. 1/2 the people were severly overweight, the other half still overweight. The trading room was a absolute pig-sty there had to be at least 8 brands of potato chips wrappers thrown on the floor, along with random computer parts, and playstation controlers.

Wow... If this is what I'll end up like if I become a full time trader --> I better think again

So you decided to call a bunch of traders losers just because they are not clean shaven and neat. Instead of actually looking at their p&l, question their trading style, or the firm's platform/execution.

You are the only fucking loser here.

Exactly...and most prop firms are just hang-outs for the unemployed who happen to have both time and money.

This thread has the best title ever.
I agree, I've been the cbot elevators with guys who just looked like shit and smelled like booze.

When I'm at home trading I never shave, wear old T shirts, eat where ever I want, and walk around in boxers.

BUT I am very big on working out and running. Just got back from a 10 mile run actually.

With the recent unemployment surge
prop firms must be making a killing

Thats how prop shops are - I worked in one also before trading my personal futures account at home - fortunately I was offered a position at a major BB I-BANK here in NYC - so trading there is much more professional, people have class, manners, and dress in typical business casual attire THAN MY LAST PROP SHOP - .... the differences..

Maybe that's the best definition for a prop shop...:D
