You do understand that we did not lockdown during polio right? By the way, polio was passed from person to person by not washing hands and touching your face/mouth etc. The disease passed in fecal matter. 70 to 80 percent had mild or no symptoms.---No lockdown.
Broad regions of the country were locked down for polio at various times in the late 1940s and early 1950s. I documented this in previous threads on the subject. Cities and towns locked down -- no school, no theaters, no pools, no one except essential workers on jobs, no travel allowed in/out.
