Welcome back 400 billion deficit, at least you got the $1.50 raise

$1.50 would buy a steak dinner --- in 1894. About the time to which Republicans want to turn back the clock. Republicans are afraid of the future, that's why they cling so tightly to the past

The average American doesn't give two fucks about the deficit. It's just something for politicians and pundits to yak about. It's not real money, it's never been real money, it means nothing. It has never meant anything, and it never will. A buck and a half means something on the paycheck and that's what matters. The rest is just pretend money financing a pretend economy. Isn't anyone ever go to write a check for it, so fuck it. It can go to 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 to the power of mother fucking 10 and it doesn't mean shit. The whole god damn thing is smoke and mirrors.

The average American doesn't give two fucks about the deficit..

First, that wasn't the point, the point was that Republicans REFUSED to spend a dime when the economy was collapsing - not a cent in relief for them in 2009 or 2010 when they lost their jobs and homes BECAUSE WHATABOUT DEFICITS.

Now they don't care about deficits.

Secondly, Republicans could have given the workers a BIGGER paycheck by cutting payroll taxes and income taxes by not handing out huge tax cuts to rich and corporations instead. If 125 million people got a buck fifty raise, that would only add up to 10 billion - yet the tax cut costs 1.5 trillion over 10 years, where did rest of the money go? To their donors pockets.

President Lyndon B. Johnson once said, "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

Republicans claimed to care about it when Obama was in office, the tea party claimed the debt and deficits were the main reason they didn't like him.Of course we all know the real reason why Republicans didn't like him because they have no problems when white guys like Reagan, bush, trump etc come into office creating massive deficits.

lol . . . . the average American doesn't give a fuck about the deficit.
Obama wanted an infrastructure project , and what did the retards say ? . ?

Who Wants a Big Gas Tax Hike?

Some people are pushing Trump to fund his infrastructure dreams with a 140 percent increase in the federal gas tax.

As the Trump administration prepares its plan on how to deliver the $1 trillion infrastructure investment that it keeps promising, some voices are calling for a steep hike in the federal gas tax.

On Thursday the Chamber of Commerce unveiled its set of infrastructure policy priorities. It included a whopping 140 percent increase in the federal gas tax, from 18.4 cents per gallon to 43.4 cents per gallon. The Chamber estimates that this will bring in an additional $394 billion in revenue over the next decade.

Raising the tax on gas is the most fair way to pay for infrastructure spending. Of course nobody likes spending more money, but if it has to be done, it has to be done.

In truth it depends which is in the presidency when it comes to the deficit.

However, in reality there are proper times to increase the deficit and improper times. Currently, with economic conditions as they are, it is an improper time to increase the deficit. We will all feel it through inflation.
