Weird about doing TA prior to trading.

Has the role of TA changed in the way you trade ?

Hi guys,

Do you, when you are about to start doing TA when trading, find it a bit weird, given - The markets at high despite the existing scenario in the economy, the huge influx through QE, and in general how it is.

Are your trades now less based on TA and more on FA ?

Thank you

Not really. My day trading is done 100 % technically.

That said, even within this bull trend, I was anticipating at least a pullback on higher time frames last week. That didn't materialize.

Technically, we're slightly overextended here, but similar patterns have played out in the past with continued upside and it's better to not fade a strong trend regardless of its reason. My technical weekly prediction for this week suggests a higher close and a new ATH. The latter seems to be secured already.

Or put more simply: Just follow the trend.

Learn technical analysis and ignore the news, ET trolls, CNBC, Bloomberg, etc. All news is useless as the big boys (hedge funds, mutual funds, brokers, banks) have already taken positions by the time you chase the stock with your news. Technical analysis if used correctly, will place you on the right side of the market (trend) 80% of the time. That is all you need to make monies in the stockmarket.

Sounds like someone is confused about what is happening versus what they are being told. If you want full confidence in TA, that comes at the top of bull markets.

just buy dips and buy breakouts.
Market is being pushed up by the Fed and it isn't gonna stop any time soon
We're all very lucky. It wasn't always this easy lol. Enjoy it.

Put another way/the uptrend is a good friend.

do not confuse trading with longer term positions.........

there will always be an up ward bias because governments do not like deflationary environments.....so expect inflationary policies and anti inflationary rhetoric and a good laugh to those in the know...mostly to the bank
