Weinstein Trading and Fading

Hi John,

Thanks and I believe I understand. While it doesn't appear so as only the final numbers are shown and not the process of getting there I do believe my trading is getting better even in the middle of the battle. It is just not getting better enough faster.

Also, its the discretionary trading that is causing all the red. I am unsure if I should feel good or bad that my signals are still rock solid. If I stop all trades that are not signal based I stop losing money. Seems pretty simple. Solution is right there. I even read Mark Douglas book about the fear of missing out. Maybe it only takes one thing and that is my one thing. I think I read that all that it takes to separate someone from the 5-10% that make it is one "flaw".

I can do better than this I know it. I need to figure out how

Best

Robert

Quote from beginnerjohn:

Actually do quite the opposite as suggested by the last poster ThepropTrader in the situation you are in Robert (no offence Theproptrader)

often you will find in the choas of doubt in execution a new order can appear when there was none. However Most people do take it off in order to seperate from it (trading) as we can get too fused with it for a number of reasons , safety being the primary reason (then Theproptraders advice can be highly regarded)....if you cant experience the chaos of the situation you are in when you consciously notice the distance between your signal and the final execution then by all means seperate from it by force Robert.

Distance also has a benefit but not as transformative as the first option mentioned in this post. ie "seeing' the chaos. Most people cant and wont go there as its too threatening

Your the man and I enjoy your journey

All the Best
John

Robert, I SWEAR I didn't say anything to him about that!

:p

Well I do have the guns for it that is for sure. I am just not sure I could actually go ahead and shoot an animal absent my family needing the food......(I don't have a problem of course hunting by proxy at the local store but of course no meat for lunch)

Thanks Nod

None taken. But I still think he needs to take good break.

Robert dont you stare at more than 8 monitors every day? You are slowly being cooked from the inside out. :D

Would you believe its actually more than 8?

perhaps it is not so slowly and I am already cooked......

so you're not a super-man.. really that's no big deal.
( i never like super-man anyway .. what's up with the s hardo and wearing the underwear outside and flying around with that red-towel etc! :) talking about cartoon movies, i only like 'finding nemo' and i love 'kung fu pandan'

sorry to hear about your down-hill a/c but don't worry i started out as a penniless apprentice and if i can made it so can you!

take heart! the year of the tiger is here.. be prepare for the majestic golden tiger roarrrrrrrs!

meanwhile .. the weekend is here.. go watch the 'kung fu panda' with your boys and your wife ... i am sure you and your family will really enjoy the story ... the 'pandan' is sooooo cute and adorable! the story is kinda like my story when i first started as an apprentice lol :D

ni hao

I didn't think that much of panda but thought it was funny. Great animation but I actually didn't think it showed enough respect to the Chinese culture. Of course I loved The meaning of life and I don't think anyone is going to stand up and say that was any more/less realistic about England so maybe I need to relax a bit.

I am not dead, pennyless, and I sure have not given up so I guess I would like to believe that this book is not ready to be finished yet.

Congrats on making it ~~~~~~

Best

Wow. Some of this advice is outragous. Yeah, Bob, go watch a cartoon movie and then come back and jump in front of a another freight train for another 12k loss. *sigh*
If you want to trade counter trend, fine, but wait for the signal that the trend "may" be over. Selling a stock that is rocketing straight up is lunacy and I'm not afraid to say it.

Whats wrong with cartoons???

lol

according to tibetan astrology, this is a very bad year for the fulfillment of wishes, the last time this happned was in 1959

I hold the Dalai Lama in very high esteem but have no knowledge of Tibetan astrology.

Based on my understanding of the markets though there is an equal amount of fulfillment of wishes as there are un-fulfillment of wishes with every trade so perhaps it is in the larger context of life's wishes.

I already really have all my important wishes for the most part so I am optimistic about the future.

Thanks

Hey RW... remember... a year earlier I used to be regular with you and nodoji in chatroom... you inspired me to hold longer and anticipate larger moves.

I am very sure you will come back with a bang :)

Hi 21,

Thanks for saying so. I agree.

I am glad you were able to get value out of the chat room. I know I sure have.

Stop in from time to time and let us know how your doing.

Hi Bighog,

Thanks for saying so. I agree having a plan is very important. I allowed discretionary trading to creep into my trading in ever increasing amounts before I was ready. I may be a better discretionary trader than I was a year ago but that part is still net negative.

I believe this has come up before but I really never meant to have a paid website. You can believe this or not and either way is fine. The chat was about not having to listen to the far left (or far right for that matter) all day long

I wasn't always a 'nice guy' and I have to credit my wife for that. I think she and some of the ideas on how to act and behave have been some of the greatest improvements to my life. I will admit though that I never at any time had a vision of being an average joe trader and had grand visions but they were all and still are trader based.

Let me leave you with this thought and comment. I thought some of your posts that I read in different places where really good solid advice. I don't recall where as they were in different places but the last few that I can recall seemed to really show some insight

have a great weekend

Robert

Bob, I wish you good luck in whatever you do. If you come back to trading do yourself a favor and have a plan instead of doing the "admiration" stuff. Trading is about a plan, strategies, tactics. Trying to be a nice guy is a waste of time, trading is about taking the other guys wallet.

I think you were confused between being just an average Joe trader and having visions of a website paid customers deal. You were trying to be the end all to many folks. If you come back just be content to be a trader first and save the other stuff for later, if at all.

Just trying to help. Good luck
