Weinstein Trading and Fading

only a few trades today mostly bad.

I received multiple short signals with ENER and I jumped in a little fast and hard. Looks like I am going to pay for that.

I did cut back some size and took the hit so that I was a little bit more inline with where I should be in shares.

Closed out CVX at BE

bought some more GE and then sold some. + $15 and I lowered my cost basis to 28.74

MEE started out as a great trade today but I tried to get more profit than the market was willing to give and then it turned on me. I stopped out all but 100 shares and then it started to move back down. Lesson learned I think with this one.

Still short a large amount MEE and I am down a lot with that.

Mixed day today.

I did not trade on the scalping signal due to the early entry of ENER and back tested to see how often that would happen. I also made some changes to the scalping signal.

I also removed until I have time to look at and or make changes to the T1 signal. This signal put me into ENER as far as I became.

Turned into a perfect storm of signals that put me into ENER to quickly. Had the scalp and the T1 signal not been used and only my normal B6+ then ENER would have been a profitable trade and I would already be out.

I did cut back on ENER but still short and underwater. Still holding GE that is about BE. Still holding MEE that is underwater.

The results are from trading/scalping MEE and ENER both of which I now have a higher sales point.

Still feeling good about holding them overnight.

+ 10250 for the month

Overall a better day than Monday or Tuesday. ENER actually went at one time in the money and I closed out MEE for a small profit (and then entered again)

While I did not exit totally from ENER I did trade enough to bring up my cost basis and still not close out a loss for the day. (not a goal just a result)

I am still of the thought that ENER in similar fashion as LDK did a few months ago and if that plays out we should see it fall further as the week moves on.

bought some more GE that I will carry overnight as it goes X dividend and I like holding GE at these prices. Friday I will be looking to write some OTM far off options to cover the long and to increase the yield. ( Of course this comes at a cost to possible upside)

Traded ENER back and forth but stayed to the short side and it cost me.

Now down for the month. Need to not break my rules and I would be up for the month. Frustrated with my trading this week.

Hello Pro,

On a very frustrating day I want to say thanks for the kind words. I very much agree with you.

One of the reasons for the journal is reflection so that I can improve and I think this journal serves the purpose well. Reflecting on where I went wrong and how to better prepare for making better choices is what I will do as a result of this week.

I went into last weekend with the best month so far this year. While I sure don't enjoy these setbacks I do understand they happen and plan to make tomorrow the best I can.

And the week is over. I covered all the ENER and now am flat except I have some covered GE at a BE of 26.95

just for fun ENER did fall at the close of the day to around my breakeven just to say have a good weekend I guess.

I would like to say thanks to all the encouraging messages. I was really surprised and I am thankful.

The good news is that I am still up for the year even though I gave back a little bit over half the profits in one week I know that just following my rules would have and still should keep me profitable.

I also have had time to adjust the "Laurel" signal that got me into ENER to begin with.

So next week will be a clean slate with a little bit more experience under my belt.

I actually did have some positive trades.
